Mar 31st: More birthday fun

Too many gratefuls to mention again today! Lovely little trip to Dorney Kitchen Gardens where I got a bunny egg cup and a dwarf nectarine tree with some birthday money and a yummy lunch in Cookham with Alex and Grandma. Only downer is mum being ill still  but we raised a glass and chomped on cake (that she bought!) for her anyway.

Mar 30th: Getaway

Today I'm grateful for a lovely, relaxing night away at Stoke Place courtesy of mum and grandma and a nice stroll around their grounds before heading off this morning. Oh, and these beautiful birthday cupcakes courtesy of Alex that were still waiting for me when I got home. Lucky, grateful girl.

Mar 29th: Blessed

Today it is impossible to choose any one particular thing to be grateful for. Today I am such very very grateful, full stop. It is my birthday and I have had a fantastic day and been spoiled rotten by very many lovely people. It is so nice to feel so loved, thought of and cared for.  Here is a selection of all my cards and goodies.

Mar 28th: Wonderland

Today I'm super grateful that firstly my first day at work went well, but mostly that mum and I got to see The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland ballet live from the Royal Opera House, at the Odeon over the road. We loved it. Even though mum felt poorly.

Mar 27th: Egg-stra grateful

Today I'm grateful to Alex for thoughtfully boiling and peeling me an egg to put in my packed lunch for my first day at work tomorrow.

Mar 26th: gluten free grateful

Today I'm grateful for the baking mum and I did today, experimenting making gluten free banana bread for my b'day brunch on Friday. Grateful for the recipe I found online and for being able to find (nearly) all of the ingredients in Maidenhead. And the yummy results!

Mar 25th: Tiggywinkles and wedding bands.

Today I'm grateful that my mummy took me all the way to Tiggywinkles and we got to see a cute little hedgehog who had a runny nose! And then I came home to my lovely husband :)

Mar 24th: Windsor

Today I'm grateful that my photographs made it into the Address Unknown exhibition and that we all went to see the exhibition together in Windsor and then had a nice lunch at the Duchess of Cambridge. And I'm grateful for the free bottle of wine we had from the pub to celebrate my birthday coming up on Friday.

Mar 22nd: Just what I fancied

Today I am extremely grateful to Alex. I had a long day in London followed by a late and delayed train. I popped to Sainsburys in the rain on the way home from the station to pick up something to make us both for tea. Deciding I really fancied a tuna nicoise salad I bought the ingredients and trudged back home. Only to find I had no tuna left in the cupboard. Cue tantrum.  So, Alex, despite having been snugly settled on the sofa in his pyjamas for ages already, got dressed and headed out into the rain for me to get me some tuna so I could still have my salad. What an angel. It was delicious, although looks quite vile in this photo!

Mar 21st: hot hot hot!

Today I am SOOOOOOOOOOO grateful to finally have HOT water and taps that work in the bathroom and the kitchen. No more kettle boiling to wash up and no more freezing hands. Hurray

Mar 20th: international day of happiness

So much to be grateful for today, the first ever UN International Day of Happiness. But I've chosen this beautiful shop front as it was so pretty I stopped and lingered to drink it all in on my way home.

Mar 19th: Thoughtful

Today I'm really grateful for the good luck card Alex gave me for my new job starting next week. Was really sweet, thank you Pickle.

Mar 18th: yummy tea

Today I'm grateful for the delicious new tea I discovered in Costa and for this little nook I found to settle into and get some work done.

Mar 17th: Flower bunny

Today I'm grateful for the really cute flower bunny mum bought me at the school fete yesterday. Love him.

Mar 16th: Richard of York

Today I'm grateful for a relatively successful day at mum's school Easter Fair and for the lovely rainbow that came out for a few moments just as we were packing up.

Mar 15th: Cauliflower nice

Today I'm grateful to whoever first discovered that if you whizz up cauliflower in a food processor it makes something vaguely rice like. Yum.

Mar 13th: Unlucky for some

Having had a bit of a rubbish day and feeling a bit down and sorry for myself, it struck me that all my gratefuls so far have been about other people or external things. So to make myself feel a bit better I decided today I'm going to be grateful for me, myself and I.

Mar 12th: Leisurely

 Today I'm grateful that Alex had a day off work and we lazed away the beautiful sunny (but totally freezing) morning in our favourite little cafe in Cookham before having a stroll around the village and chatting to the lovely wine shop owner. Another lovely little day.

Mar 11th: Certified

Today I'm grateful that my NLP Certificate FINALLY arrived.

Mar 10th: Mother's Day

Today I'm grateful for the opportunity to say thank you to my mummy and grandma for all they do for me the rest of the year round.

Mar 9th: Pine and Pie

 Today I'm grateful that it was dry long enough for Alex and I to finally get round to chopping up the Christmas tree that has been hanging out in the back garden since Christmas and then clear the front garden together too. I'm grateful for the time spent just pottering about together, ticking a few chores off the list and then sharing a nice hearty home made pie together in honour of National Pie Week. Nice day.

Mar 8th: and relax

Today I'm grateful for this little moment, prepared for me by Alex after 2 long days in London and a daft train journey that saw me home long after I was due. Aaaaah.

Mar 7th: Let there be light

Today I'm grateful that I finally got round to changing all the dud lightbulbs around the house, especially in the kitchen. Now I can actually see what I'm cooking. Novel. I had to stand at such a weird angle directly under the lounge light to get this shot and no matter how many times I tried it I couldn't get it central without the top bit chopped off. It was giving me neck ache, so I gave up!

Mar 6th: distraction

Today I'm grateful for this beautiful, jolly clump of flowers along the greenway. I'd just witnessed a grown, smart and 'normal' looking man mindlessly toss a bit of rubbish off a bridge into the waterway about 2 feet from a bin and was quietly fuming behind him, burning holes in his back with my angry, incredulous state and generally hurrumphing to myself when I spotted these. Thank you little flowers for restoring me to my previous calm and smiley self and distracting me for long enough that the silly man had long gone by the time I'd finished admiring.

Mar 5th: Rays

Today I'm grateful for the lovely, sunny sunshine:

streaming through the conservatory windows at my mums new house...

...shining along the Greenway on my walk home...










...and flooding the deck in the back garden meaning I could dry the sheets on the line and potter about pruning and sweeping.

Mar 3rd: Sunday stroll

Today I'm grateful for a nice Sunday stroll along the greenway to Cookham and a yummy salad lunch at The Crown. These pretty flowers on our table were the icing on the cake.

Mar 2nd: coffee and cupcake

Today I'm grateful for waking up with my husband, for the market on the high street, for reminiscing over our Sicily holiday when we walked past the Sicily stall, for the Spanish street food stall and our chorizo roll, for the beautiful cupcake stand and the resulting coffee and cupcake moment I had as well, as my pretty floral cup and tablecloth. It all made me smile today...now off to the gym to work it off.

Today I'm grateful for an evening together.  Feels like ages, even though it was only a few days.

Today I'm grateful for being able to hear the Big Ben bongs from my training course close by and for the fab view.

Today I'm grateful for a nice little stroll, hand in hand before a lovely coffee in a snugly pub and a scrumptious home cooked family roast. Perfect Sunday.

Having been yelled at in a rather unpleasant manner for quite longer than necessary by my boiler fitter, today I'm grateful for Worcester Bosch's nice customer service lady for sorting it all out for us.

Today I'm grateful for my nice warm piggy slippers to keep my freezing little toes nice and warm.
